Come One – Come All

A great big “Thank you!” to the residents of Harrison County and the surrounding area for your support of the village/welcome center in 2013! Whether you attended our 75th Anniversary of the village/100th Anniversary of the Lincoln Highway celebration and special exhibit, supported our vendors or are a vendor at the farmers market, volunteered to help with our school program, patronized the gift shop, or brought your family and friends to tour the village and walk the trail, we have enjoyed and appreciate your visits.
The best news is there is still time to visit if you haven’t had the chance! The village will be open until the end of November or until the first snowfall – whichever comes first. The welcome center/gift shop is open all year. There is one Living Loess Third Saturday of the month tour day left in October where you can complete your passport and be eligible to win a $1000 prize (Visit www.livingloess.com for more information.) And the Welcome Center Farmers Market will continue on Thursdays from 3:30 to 6:30 pm until October 24th.
We are happy to announce Stick & Stone Brick Oven Bakery making naturally leavened bread will be using the welcome center as a drop–off location on Thursday afternoons all fall, winter, and spring until the farmers market starts again in 2014. Hours are yet to be determined, but you will be able to place an order for the bread you have grown to love, and then pick it up at the welcome center. We will be offering this drop–off opportunity to all of our full-time market vendors so who knows what other products may be available at the welcome center between the end of the 2013 farmers market and the start of the 2014 season!
A reminder that if you would like to find out the latest happenings and developments at the village/welcome center, “Like” Harrison County Iowa Welcome Center on Facebook, or give us a call at 712-642-2114. Better yet, stop in and visit us as we always love company!
