Old Town Conservation Area

The Old Town Conservation Area is located 2 miles SE of Missouri Valley and was acquired by HCCB with the help of many conservation partners.  The 341 acre area lies in the Loess Hills adjacent to the National Park Service (NPS) identified Loveland Special Landscape Area (SLA).  The area features the following high quality natural areas: Loess Hills little bluestem prairie and Eastern Great Plains bur oak woodlands.  A network of hiking trails, scenic vistas, and abundant populations of white-tailed deer and Eastern turkey provide a variety of public recreation opportunities.  Parking is available in two locations along Lima Trail and Mesa Place county roads.
