Introduction to HCCB
|
The
Harrison County Conservation Board (HCCB) was authorized by the people of the
county at the general election in 1966 for the purpose of purchasing and
developing land for parks, hunting and fishing access, and other recreational
use within the county.
The
Harrison County Conservation Board is directly responsible to the residents of
Harrison County.
The County Board of Supervisors appoints county residents to the
Conservation Board.
These appointees are to be chosen on the basis of their demonstrated
interest in conservation matters.
The Board operates as a corporate body.
It makes decisions regarding the preservation of local natural resources
and developing a well-organized program of public recreation.
The Director, employed by the Board and responsible to the Board,
implements the conservation program.
